Buttons
Buttons is a stainless steel wire fairy with a copper skirt and flower hat.
She is in a pose which suggests she is tiptoeing / sneaking around trying not to be heard.
When I made her, I designed her to be standing on top of a stack of cotton reels with a needle levitating through a button as shown in the photo.
We recently exhibited a number of fairies and dandelions at the RHS Chelsea flower show. I wanted to include Buttons in the exhibition, but didn’t want the wooden buttons and cotton reels to exposed to the weather, so I made her a dandelion stand just for Chelsea.
