Gaia Facing Reality
Gaia : Facing Reality
I normally spend a far longer time contemplating a design than actual making the sculpture and then allow the audience to work out the meaning. After all the art should speak for itself.
However: This sculpture is different.
Spending time in the workshop with my son Adam, we often discuss the state of the world including climate change. I decided to commit many of my thoughts on the subject to writing which has grown into a thesis which is the real inspiration for my sculpture of Gaia.
I’m well aware that everyone has an opinion on the subject and who am I to pretend to be any sort of authority.
I’m not!
But my thesis is not about client change its about: “Climate, power and who gets the bill”.
I’ve spent a lot of time putting this together and I would love you to read it.
email me : Robin@FantasyWire.co.uk and share your thoughts
If you like what I’m saying, please download and share it. I don’t have any route power, but maybe you might.
The writing on her face is a message. It should be possible to identify the language and reverse translate it. Or you could read my thesis.
The sculpture itself is listed as Not Available. It may be at some point, but I want it to age and take on the appearance of a ancient monument.
