Seraphina
Description
This sculpture was made by Adam Wight (Robin Wight’s Son)
“Seraphina” is a stainless steel wire sculpture of a ballerina fairy with a brass butterfly gently landing on her finger. She is wearing a copper leaf skirt which has been lacquered to withstand all weathers without tarnishing.
Background
The name Seraphina, can symbolise purity, beauty, and divine grace, reflecting the qualities of the seraphim, the highest-ranking angels in Christian and Jewish theology. These angels are associated with purity, beauty, and divine grace. In Hebrew and Italian origin Seraphina, means “burning ones” or “fiery”. I choose this name as I believe this fairy sculpture embodies these qualities of purity and beauty. This sculpture was made by Adam Wight (me). I have been learning my father Robin Wight’s method of wire sculpture and making them to his standard. Although this one is completely my design and creation, I have made it in the workshop along side my father Robin whilst he has been making his own sculptures. So he has kept and eye on the quality of this finished piece.
I realise that some buyers may be looking for a “Robin Wight” sculpture, if so then Robin’s sculptures will be listed on the website when they become available. Otherwise this is an authentic FantasyWire ltd Sculpture made by Adam Wight.
